Justice Talwant Singh is a renowned Senior Advocate with nearly four decades of exemplary judicial and legal experience.
His career is marked by an unwavering commitment to justice, a deep mastery of legal principles, and a steadfast dedication to advocating for the rights of his clients. Widely recognized for his expertise across multiple legal fields,
Justice Singh is highly respected in the legal fraternity. His judicial career began in May 2000 when he was appointed as an Additional District & Sessions Judge, a position he held until November 2014. During this period, he presided over several high-profile cases, including the Commonwealth Games Corruption Case, significant bank fraud cases, and murder trials.
From May 2007 to May 2010, he also served as the founding Chairman of the Delhi School Tribunal. Notably, in 2013, as a Member (Judicial) of the Honorable Supreme Court of India’s E-Committee, Justice Singh played a pivotal role in the rapid computerization of nearly 14,000 courts across India, achieving this milestone in record time.
In December 2014, Justice Singh was promoted to District & Sessions Judge, a role he served in until May 25, 2019. On May 26, 2019, he was elevated to the position of permanent Judge of the Delhi High Court, where he delivered several landmark judgments before retiring on June 3, 2023. His tenure has left an indelible impact on the legal landscape.
After retirement, Justice Singh resumed active legal practice, including conducting arbitration matters. In recognition of his vast expertise and distinguished service, the Honorable Supreme Court of India designated him as a Senior Advocate in October 2023.
Justice Singh’s career is filled with numerous professional accomplishments, including successful verdicts, accolades, and contributions to legal scholarship. He has been consistently recognized by legal associations for his exceptional dedication to justice.
Outside of his legal career, Justice Singh is deeply involved in philanthropy, focusing on human rights, access to justice, and legal education. He is the patron of the Nasdeep Foundation, which supports educational and medical initiatives in underprivileged and remote communities across India.
